Camera? What Camera?

I'm obviously behind in writing about the class I took on Sunday from Cookie, but believe me, it's in process and I'm trying to write a decent enough review, that it's worth your time to read it. Bear with me ... it's coming.

First of all, thank you for being such a wonderful group of friends. I swear I have the best group of blogger friends in the entire world and I'm so thankful for each & every one of you for leaving me comments of support while I wait, and wait and wait on doctors to diagnose me correctly.

Exactly two months ago, I saw the first doctor about all my health problems, but after no diagnosis from him, and an incorrect diagnosis from the 2nd doctor, I finally have a diagnosis. This time I saw a WOMAN. Does this have something to do it? I'll let you be the judge of that.

I have the Epstein-Barr Virus because it could be chronic, but even if I get better now, if it returned again, it could signal a chronic condition as well, so to just be aware. Oh believe me, I'm definitely more aware now. Thankfully I don't have hypothyroidism (my (EBV), and if you know anything about mononucleosis, then you'll understand a bit of what I've been experiencing for awhile. She said my test results showed I've had it for about 4 months and that there's no treatment for it other than time. She told me that if my symptoms don't improve in another 2 months, then I need to see a rheumatologistTSH levels dropped from 3.68 to a normal 1.72) and she's not convinced I have fibromyalgia, but since I have been feeling better over the last week she presumes in the next 30 days I'll feel good enough to resume most normal activities. Of course had I known the diagnosis 2 months ago, it wouldn't have changed how I felt. Then again, knowing probably would've helped with the stress of it all.

Enough about my health, on to the good stuff!!

Yesterday my chronological age ticked forward another year. Since DH gave me what I wanted most for my birthday on Sunday (the sock classes from Cookie), he surprised me with a much needed and wanted pair of Bose ear-bud headphones for my iPod.

I was also treated to an absolutely perfect dinner at the Orange Hill Restaurant. If you click on the link it will show you the absolutely amazing views we saw last night, as well as their menus (I had Filet Oscar), but since I was carrying my evening bag, I failed to slip my small digital camera in there. No photos ... bad blogger! I learned my lesson though. I've placed a note in the container where I store my evening bags to remind myself to "take the digital camera".

I've been knitting here and there, but mainly I've been shopping. So far, all I've received are the beautiful skeins of ArtYarns Supermerino from Yarn4Socks.com, and the yarn is even prettier in person. Although I'm not sure what projects the yarn is destined for, right now I'm just happy with it sitting next to my computer.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! Dinner sounds wonderful - mmmm, I would have chosen the Filet Oscar too. :) I'm glad to hear you finally have a diagnosis - I just wish they could help you feel better right away. I'll keep sending you "feel better" thoughts. I'm drooling over your new sock yarn (even more than I drooled over Filet Oscar!!)

Just having a diagnosis must be something of a relief. Happy Birthday, again.

Happy birthday! Glad it was a good one (your husband sure knows how to spoil you!).

Glad to hear that you're feeling better healthwise, too. Sometimes I think just knowing what it is that you've got will make you feel better -- knowledge is power, right?

So glad you had a birthday full of presents and fun with your hubby, and I am so jealous of your new Bose earbuds...

Hip hip hoorsy for women doctors, my mom is a retired one, so I naturally think they're the best!;)
I agree with the above poster that having a diagnosis is a relief--I've recently experienced several disappointing health episodes and I finally got a diagnosis as to why. I was so pleased to find out what my problem (an easily fixable one) is, so I know that sometimes having a name to put it helps immensely.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRISTIE!!!!!!!!!! It sounds like your dh planned the perfect birthday gifts and dinner - Hooray for him!

I'm so happy you FINALLY have a diagnosis and I will pray that you ARE feeling better very soon and that it doesn't come back to haunt you anymore. You have definately been through enough to last a lifetime! I'll continue to keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Happy, happy birthday! It sounds like you got the perfect collection of gifts. Diagnosis, Cookie class, sock yarn, and new earbuds for podcast listening! And the dinner sounds just lovely. Yays all around!

Happy Birthday!! Cool gift :)

And whew to have a diagnosis. And sucks that's there really nothing to do about it. But I can imagine just having a diagnosis is a relief. It floors me that the prior docs didn't order the blood tests for EBV/IM. Simple, common blood tests.

Happy Birthday!

I'm sorry you have mono; but I'm glad it isn't anything more serious. Hopefully you are now on the upswing and will be back to your old self in no time. It must be a relief to finally know what it is!

Happy Birthday to you! I am glad you were treated nicely!

As far as your illness, I am so glad you have it figured out and yes, I think the woman DR. was probably more in tune and aware. I really hope you feel better soon...maybe day by day. My thoughts are with you.

Happy Birthday! I'm so sorry about your health problems... I hope you're feeling better soon.

As for the camera, I can so relate. Unless I'm going yarn shopping, I always forget mine. I've just sat through my youngest son's first 2 days of swim lessons wishing I'd remembered my camera. Ugh!

Hey there,

I randomly stopped by this site and saw your diagonsis of EBV. Both my mother and I suffered from this many years ago, probably 25. And it can be chronic, but it will disapate, although it can take years. Quick word of warning, the flu shot is counter-indicated by EBV, so avoid the flu shot from here on in. Also, it stays in your blood, so giving blood is also out. Try to eat helthy, and stay positive, but essentially you have true chornic fatigue, so accept it and do your best.

Good luck
Carla
